Badges
CAIRL trust badge specifications — construction, sizes, placement rules, and misuse guidelines.
Badges
The CAIRL trust badge is the primary trust signal for platforms integrating CAIRL verification. It appears only where verification occurs — never as a site-wide endorsement.
Construction
The badge is a horizontal Assurance Rail lockup containing:
- Full-height Assurance Rail — the persistent blue authority cue at the leading edge
- [C] compact mark — the canonical bracket-framed C
- Stacked text — "CAIRL" above "VERIFIED"
- Trailing check — the approved Lucide check in a Gated Green disc
Specifications:
- Stroke: 2px
- Border radius: 6px
- Rail: 9px and full capsule height
- Asset construction: outlined text and canonical mark paths; no live-font dependency
Colorways
| Context | Capsule | Rail | Mark + CAIRL | VERIFIED | Check |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light backgrounds | White, Foundation border | Foundation Blue | Privacy Black | Trust Blue | Gated Green |
| Dark backgrounds | Foundation, white border | Trust Blue | White | White | Gated Green |
No other colorways are permitted. Do not recolor any individual badge element.
Sizes
| Size | Dimensions | "CAIRL" text | "VERIFIED" text |
|---|---|---|---|
| Large | 200 × 60px | 16px | 12px |
| Medium | 160 × 48px | 13px | 10px |
| Icon-only | 24–32px | — | — |
At 120px width and below, use the icon-only fallback: the [C] compact mark alone at 24–32px. Do not scale the medium lockup below its minimum text size.
Link requirement
Every badge instance must link to cairl.app in a new tab (target="_blank"). This applies to all sizes including the icon-only fallback.
Official downloads
Use the official immutable assets only. Do not rebuild the badge from the compact mark and live text.
| Colorway | Preferred SVG | PNG fallback | Retina PNG |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light backgrounds | Rail SVG | Rail PNG | Rail PNG @2x |
| Dark backgrounds | Rail SVG | Rail PNG | Rail PNG @2x |
The canonical hosted SVG URL for light backgrounds is https://www.cairl.co/brand/cairl-trust-badge-blue.svg. Replace blue with white for dark backgrounds.
Publication status: Founder-approved for production and public use on July 10, 2026. Use only for active or restricted-live integrations.

- Verification-related emails
Prohibited placements
- Advertising or promotional banners
- Content pages unrelated to verification
- Product listing pages
- User-generated content areas
- Pop-ups or modal overlays
- Competitor comparison sections
Placement rules
- Badge must appear within the same visual group as the verification call-to-action
- Maximum two instances per page — one primary placement, one footer
- Both instances must use the same colorway
- Remove badge within 48 hours if the integration is suspended
Misuse
Use official assets only. Businesses must use the provided SVG or PNG files — never recreate the badge.
Prohibited modifications:
- Do not recolor, remove the approved capsule fill, apply gradients, or add effects
- Do not remove, shorten, or recolor the Assurance Rail or trailing check
- Do not change fonts, text content, or translate the "VERIFIED" label
- Do not stretch, crop, or change the aspect ratio
- Do not animate the badge (no rotation, pulse, fade, or hover effects)
Prohibited claims:
- Do not combine the badge with other logos (no co-branding)
- Do not use the badge to imply endorsement ("CAIRL Approved," "CAIRL Certified")
- Do not display the badge alongside verification depth codes (A-0, A-II, etc.)
Enforcement: Minor violations (clearspace errors) receive a notification and correction window. Severe violations (recreated badges, false endorsement claims) trigger immediate removal and potential integration suspension.
